
L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in the Science - call for applications

Created in 2007, the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in the Science, Czech Republic talent program aim to promote young women's participation in science. The program identifies and rewards talented young female researchers in Formal sciences such as Information Technology and Information Science and Mathematics; Life and environmental sciences such as Biological, Clinical, Basic Medical and Health Sciences and Physical Sciences.
The 16th year of the unique project "For Women in Science" sponsored by The L'Oréal Czech Republic in cooperation with UNESCO and the Czech Academy of Sciences has just started.
Applications can be submitted by female Czech scientists (or foreign nationality but demonstrably working in Czech science respectively doing research in an institution in the Czech Republic for at least one year) with doctoral degree. Applicants limit of age is 40 years old (reaching age 40 by 31st October 2022). The deadline to submit your application is 28 February 2022.
Eligible applicants must provide, in English:
- Duly completed application form (submitted electronically through the online platform: forwomeninscience.com),
- Copy of Ph.D. degree,
- Professional curriculum vitae (CV),
- Recommendation of a superior researcher or head of the research institution where the project will be implemented (in the English language),
- List of published work and citations in accordance with the Web of Science,
- List of best published work and a short comment by the applicant in the English language as to the importance of the results published,
- Motivation letter – with the maximum scope of 1 page,
- Detailed description of the research project of 2 pages maximum:
If the scientific project includes animal tests, the document of the ethics committee's approval. - For scientists with foreign nationality only: Prove of employment - confirmation of the length of employment in a Czech institution.
The jury, composed by a panel of regional scientists elected by the Academy Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences, will select three winners awarded 200 000 CZK each. All the required information, including the entry form, is available on www.forwomeninscience.com.
