Study visit on R&D for the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences
18. 09. 2026
The Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research in Brussels (CZELO), in cooperation with the Department of International Cooperation of the CAS, is opening a selection process for a study internship from April 12 to 16, 2027, in Brussels.
The aim of the study internship is to help strengthen the capacities and professional knowledge of project managers from the institutes of the CAS. The internship will be focused on gaining a better understanding of the EU R&D policies, the functioning of selected programmes (such as Horizon Europe, and other EU programmes), and EU institutions, while also supporting the establishment of new contacts at the European level. The professional internship will focus more on pre-award activities of project managers.
The internship is intended for both beginner and experienced project managers from the workplaces of the Czech Academy of Sciences who are actively involved in the European research programmes and policies and who are interested in more active involvement of their research institutions in international cooperation.
The internship will include meetings with various EU institution staff, as well as representatives from universities and relevant experts. The meetings will be interactive. Participants are expected to actively engage in discussions, share experiences from their own institute, and offer their own perspectives on the issues. Depending on the counterpart, the meetings will be held either in Czech or English. Applicants are expected to have at least a B2 level of English.
The agenda will be sent to selected participants no later than a week before the event.
Throughout the internship, participants will be accompanied by members of the CZELO office team.
The participant covers the internship costs through their sending institution. The costs are not covered by the Head Office of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
Those interested in the study internship can apply through the form here, with a description of the participant's motivation being one of the main criteria. Attention will also be given to prioritizing applicants who have not yet participated in any internships or V4 CZELO training in Brussels. At the same time, their level of previous experience will be considered to create a balanced group of participants. The selection of candidates will be carried out in cooperation with the CZELO Office.
A maximum of 10 project managers from the institutes of the CAS will participate in the internship.
Applications for the internship are open until 30 October 2026.
