Call: Become a Founding Member of the Young Network TransEurope

The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities has launched a call for founding members of the Young Network TransEurope (YNT), a network for young and mid-career scholars. In the context of the war in Ukraine, it has become clear that expertise on the countries that are often misleadingly bundled together under the label “Eastern Europe” has been neglected and marginalised in Germany and its western neighbour states. The diversity of these countries in the north, south and centre of the continent is enormous. The aim of this initiative is to better understand the diverse European perspectives and to focus on crossing geographical, cultural, scientific and disciplinary boundaries. Due to the war, the special emphasis of the network’s work will lie on Ukraine and its neighbouring states.

The deadline for sending the required documents (motivation letter, CV, list of publications, proof of qualification, 2 letters of recommendation) is 18 April 2023. All documents should be sent electronically as one pdf document to the following email address: ynt@bbaw.de.
