Reporting a submission and contacts
If you encounter or witness to undesirable behaviour at the Czech Academy of Sciences, please contact the CAS ombudsperson. If your workplace has its own ombudsperson, please contact them first.
Submissions are accepted in any form, and it is possible to first discuss the matter in person, especially if you have any doubts or questions. However, the processing of the submission will be faster if it is submitted in writing to the specified email address or via the form, and if you include the following information:
- Who is submitting the report and their contact details. Reports may also be submitted anonymously, but it is advisable to leave an e-mail address (even an anonymous one) or telephone number for discreet follow-up. Your name will not appear anywhere, unless we agree otherwise.
- What kind of unethical behaviour is being reported – please describe it in as much detail as possible, including how it developed over time.
- Which institute the conduct concerns, who allegedly engaged in it, and who else was involved.
- What steps, if any, have been taken to prevent the unethical behaviour, and with what results.
- Any possible evidence (documents, e-mails, witness statements, recordings, etc.).
- What outcome you expect and how you would like the situation to be resolved.
Submissions must be made in good faith and based on a genuine belief that undesirable behaviour has taken place. Malicious submissions without a factual basis, made with the intent to harm someone or abuse the institution of the ombudsperson, constitute a breach of the Code of Conduct of the CAS.
