Institute of Physiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IPHYS) is one of the leading biomedical research institutions in the fields of neuroscience, metabolism and cardiovascular physiology in the Czech Republic. Using molecular, cellular and animal models, we tackle mechanisms of serious human medical conditions including autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, ischemic heart disease, diabetes or inherited metabolic disorders. Moreover, IPHYS holds an important role in the education of undergraduate and graduate students and health care workers.

Call for applications:
PhD candidates are encouraged to choose up to 3 PhD projects from an annotated list found at https://www.fgu.cas.cz/en/students and apply through a web portal found at the site (or link below). The candidates will be notified by the mid-April 2024 about the outcome of the selection process and will receive detailed information about the next steps required to start their PhD studies. Selected PhD candidates will be enrolled at a university-administered, tuition-free PhD program (mostly at the Charles University, Prague) and supported by a flat-rate university stipend and up to full-time salary and benefits by IPHYS. PhD program starts in October 2024.
