Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the CAS announces a competition for the position Technology Transfer Manager.
We are looking for an experienced technology transfer professional to take on a key role in managing our institute’s commercialization activities and helping bring our research results from the laboratory to the market.
Job Description:
- Manage and coordinate technology transfer activities at the institute
- Identify research results with application potential and evaluate their commercial viability
- Record and manage intellectual property
- Collaborate with patent attorneys in preparing applications for industrial property protection
- Actively seek suitable partners from the applied sector and maintain relationships with industry
- Present research results and offer technologies to industrial partners
- Assist in negotiating terms of contract research, collaborative research, and licensing agreements
- Support the establishment and development of spinoff companies
- Participate in educational and networking events focused on technology transfer and innovation
Requirements:
- University degree in economics, law, or natural sciences (especially chemistry, biology, physics, or related fields)
- Experience in knowledge and technology transfer, at least 1 year of experience in a similar position
- Basic knowledge of intellectual property law and research commercialization processes
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Fluent Czech, both spoken and written
- English at a minimum B2 level
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, public databases, and internal information systems)
- Proactive approach, independence, and willingness to continue professional development
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in leading or coordinating a team
- Familiarity with internal approval processes and the environment of the Czech Academy of Sciences
- Knowledge of German or French
