Research assistant/graduate student (qualification grades 1 or 2 by the Career Development Rules for CAS Employees with a University Degree).
Job description:
We are seeking a colleague to join the newly formed team working on the project „Evolutionary Drama of the Last Ice Age,“ which will be conducted between 2026 and 2031 at the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno. The main specialization of the position is radiocarbon dating and isotope analysis.
Requirements:
- Completed university education (Master’s degree, Ing.) in archaeology and/or geology and/or nuclear physics
- Appropriate professional experience in archaeology, geosciences, nuclear physics, and related disciplines
- Appropriate publication activity in peer-reviewed international scientific journals
- Experience in designing, organizing, and implementing domestic and international research projects, involvement in international research teams, adequate network of global contacts with the potential to participate in new international projects
- Willingness to join a newly formed research team and collaborate with experts from various institutions. Ability to work systematically and creatively in a scientific environment, and teamwork
- Active knowledge of spoken and written English
- In addition to theoretical basic research, the job description also includes participation in field, organizational, editorial, and promotional activities of the workplace
- Group B driver’s license is an advantage

- Fixed-term contract (initially for 1 year) with the possibility of extension based on evaluation
