Economics Institute of the CAS announces a competition for the position IT infrastructure administrator.
IT INFRASTRUCTURE ADMINISTRATOR

We are looking for a colleague for the position of IT Infrastructure Administrator.
What will your job entail?
• Responsibility for the installation, configuration and administration of Linux servers. The agenda also includes maintenance and administration of system tools and applications such as Gitlab, Nagios, Moodle, DokuWiki, helpdesk, VMware.
• Participation in monitoring and administration of the infrastructure, including configurations of monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, Flowmon).
• Cooperation in the administration and development of backup (Veeam Backup) including configuration of backups and data recovery in the Linux server environment.
• Ensuring the management and development of network infrastructure - firewalls, switches, routers, WiFi controllers, email gateways, anti-malware.
• Active cooperation in the development of the Microsoft 365 environment within the Charles University ecosystem - management of users, licenses, security policies.
• Cooperation with an external supplier on the development of an internal workflow system - collection of user requirements, supervision of technical implementation and testing.
• Automation and orchestration of server infrastructure management (Ansible), management and optimization of the GitLab CI/CD pipeline, management and automation of SSL certificate issuance.
• Ensuring IT security - cooperation in defining policies and emergency plans, penetration tests and audits, including ensuring compliance with legal requirements (e.g. NIS2), consultations on personal data protection (GDPR) within IT and the institution.
• Participation in the development of the internal study information system in cooperation with the supplier, ensuring the technical implementation of exporting student data to the central SIMS registry.
• Ensuring the configuration, maintenance and secure operation of Apache and Nginx web servers, MySQL database systems, DNS server management.
• Managing the Google Workspace environment, including synchronization with Windows Active Directory.
• Systematic documentation management and knowledge sharing within the IT team, user training.
What do we expect from you?
• University degree in a technical field, or adequate experience.
• Knowledge of English for communication with foreign colleagues (written and oral).
• Broad overview of IT: security, networks, servers, applications, backups.
• Good knowledge of IT security, NIS2 and GDPR.
• Practical experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of configuration and administration of Linux server operating systems (Oracle Linux, Ubuntu), knowledge of Windows Server is an advantage.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PHP).
• Experience with creating online documentation (e.g. Wiki).
• Experience with the Git version control system is an advantage.
• Independence, reliability, diligence and systematic approach.
• Willingness to learn new things and a positive attitude to work.
• Excellent communication skills and team spirit.

Start date: Upon agreement.
Starting full-time salary: CZK 50,000–55,000 per month (depending on education and experience).
