Praha zažije největší setkání sociologů a socioložek v evropské historii

Ve dnech 25.–28. srpna 2015 se v Praze koná významná mezinárodní sociologická konference s názvem Rozdíly, nerovnosti a sociologická imaginace. Zúčastní se jí rekordní počet 3500 vědců a vědkyň, především z Evropy, ale i z mnoha mimoevropských zemí. Konference je jedinečnou příležitostí k setkáním a diskusím nad tématy a problémy, se kterými se potýkají společnosti ve vyspělých zemích, zvláště pak v Evropě. „Velká část problémů soudobých společností je důsledkem exponenciálního nárůstu sociálních nerovností jak na globální úrovni, mezi státy, tak na úrovních národních, regionálních i lokálních, tedy mezi lidmi v rámci jednoho státu, regionu či města,“ říká ředitel Sociologického ústavu AV ČR dr. Tomáš Kostelecký.

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
