Finále Expedice vesmír 2015

Populárně-naučná soutěž Expedice vesmír úspěšně skončila. Během simulovaného letu pětice mladých kosmonautů (Alena Kupská, Ondřej Brhlík, Vojtěch Fárek, Adam Karas a Jakub Zemek) ke čtyřkilometrovému asteroidu se posádce podařilo odklonit toto kosmické těleso z kolizní dráhy se Zemí a zachránit tak naši planetu před katastrofou.
Do třetího ročníku soutěže se přihlásily stovky dětí z celé republiky ve věku 10–15 let, do semifinále jich postoupilo třicet. O pětici finalistů rozhodla odborná porota, v níž zasedli astrofyzik Jiří Grygar, psychiatr Cyril Höschl, letec-kosmonaut Oldřich Pelčák, publicista Pavel Toufar a fyzikové Bedřich Rus (ELI Beamlines) a Tomáš Mocek, vedoucí centra HiLASE, jehož konstruktéři postavili raketu, ve které astronauti strávili téměř 24 hodin. The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
