First Transnational Call of the Resilient Cultural Heritage Partnership Open
06. 11. 2026
The European Partnership Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) has launched its first Joint Transnational Call, aimed at strengthening the resilience of cultural heritage to the impacts of climate and environmental change.
Research teams from institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences are also eligible to participate in the call through the Czech Academy of Sciences. The call was officially launched on 4 November 2026.
The call, entitled “Foundations for climate-resilient cultural heritage: Assessing and managing impact and risk, dealing with damage and loss”, supports international research and innovation projects linking cultural heritage research with the challenges of climate change and societal resilience.
Projects may address one or more of the following four thematic areas:
• assessing and managing the risks and impacts of climate change on cultural heritage;
• addressing loss and damage to cultural heritage caused by climate change-related natural hazards;
• traditional, local and Indigenous knowledge and practices as resources for societal resilience;
• sustainable management and governance of cultural heritage.
Project consortia must consist of at least three eligible partners from three different countries participating in the call. Projects may run for 24 to 36 months.
For Czech participants from institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Czech Academy of Sciences has allocated EUR 400,000 to the call, including the EU contribution, with a maximum funding amount of EUR 200,000 per project. Funding provided through the Czech Academy of Sciences is available exclusively to teams from its institutes.
The call follows a two-stage application procedure. Pre-proposals must be submitted by 11 January 2027 at 14:00 CET.
Selected consortia will subsequently be invited to submit full proposals by 16 June 2027 at 14:00 CEST.
