ALLEA Call for Nominations of Experts to Task Forces

05. 11. 2026

The international organisation All European Academies (ALLEA) has published a call for nominations of experts to two newly established Task Forces focusing on current issues in European science policy.

The two Task Forces are:

  1. Science Education – focusing on the development of science education in Europe, particularly interdisciplinary approaches, scientific literacy, critical thinking and the ethical aspects of education, including the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence.

  2. Safeguarding Disciplinary Diversity and Long-Term Research Capacity – focusing on identifying research disciplines at risk and ensuring the sustainability of specialised research expertise in Europe, including related issues of research funding, research assessment and institutional policies.

Both Task Forces will operate during 2027–2028 for a period of 18–24 months. Members will be expected to participate in regular meetings (3–4 per year, at least one of which should be held in person), contribute to the preparation of publications and recommendations, and help disseminate the results.

The internal deadline for submitting nominations is 9 November 2026. For further information, please contact the secretariat of your institute. Only employees of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) are eligible to claim reimbursement of travel expenses if their nomination is successful.
