
NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme call for proposals

A call for proposals has been launched under the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme to promote practical cooperation between NATO member states and partner countries based on research, technological innovation, and knowledge exchange.
It enables to work together to address emerging security challenges and their impact.
This programme will support multi-year projects and events (advanced research workshops, advanced training courses, advanced study institutes). Proposals should demonstrate awareness of the state-of- the-art in the relevant field and establish the project's innovative nature. The duration of supported projects will be 24 to 36 months. Project results should aim to achieve a Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) of 3–6 and represent, improving on the state-of-the-art, including commercial off-the-shelf solutions.
Topics (selected):
- Biotechnology, including convergence with AI;
- Space technologies - space awareness; position, navigation and timing;
- Protection of critical infrastructure, supplies and personnel; maritime and undersea
infrastructure resilience;
- Innovative energy generation, storage, and distribution, including the capacity of
critical facilities and deployed systems to operate through prolonged disruption of
supply;

The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.

Prof. Radomír Pánek started his first term of office in March 2025. He is a prominent Czech scientist specializing in plasma physics and nuclear fusion.
