
Call to join the Global Young Academy

The Global Young Academy (GYA), an independent learned society gathering 200 outstanding early- to mid-career researchers, is accepting new members.
Scientists are selected for a 5-year term based on their scientific excellence and their clear commitment to making a positive change in society.
The call is aimed at young researchers aged 30-40, i.e. approx. 7 years from PhD.
GYA members are expected to attend annual General Meetings and actively participate in one of the GYA’s programmes (e.g. promotion of National Young Academies, supporting science outreach and education).
The next GYA General Meeting will be held between 13-17 June 2022 in Japan.

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
