
ALLEA and ISC Report from the 2nd Conference on the Ukraine Crisis

In March 2023, ALLEA and ISC held the 2nd Joint Virtual Conference on the current crisis in Ukraine. This online conference brought together more than 530 participants from around the world. They addressed the findings and recommendations that emerged from the previous conference in June 2022 and reviewed them in light of the deteriorating situation in Ukraine. Following this, a joint ALLEA and ISC report has now been released entitled "One year of war in Ukraine: exploring the impact on the science sector and supporting initiatives".

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
