The Science Council is an elected body of the CAS and a permanent advisory board to the Academy Council on matters related to the creation and implementation of the Academy’s science policy. The Science Council consists of representatives of the CAS institutes, universities and other research and educational institutions, as well as distinguished foreign scientists. A minimum of one quarter and a maximum of one third of the members of the Science Council are external members. Proportional representation of the research areas is also taken into account during the election of the members to the Science Council.
