Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Postdoctoral Researcher in the Study of Magnons.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to advance the experiments and the design of components for studying magnons in altermagnetic and p-wave materials.
Join the Dioscuri Centre for spincaloritronics and magnonics at FZU and be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies. You will be a key player in the magnonic team. The successful candidate (m/f) will engage in experimental planning and component design for the study of magnons in altermagnetic and p-wave materials and in the preparation of devices for measuring magnon transport and analysis of experimental data.
What you will do
- Design experiments to the study of magnons in altermagnetic and p-wave materials
- Fabricate devices for measuring magnon transport and analyze experimental data
- Write scientific articles and present results at conferences
- Supervise student projects (master’s or doctoral level)
- Foster collaboration and communication with other international partners, group members and FZU staff
- Write research papers and present results at conferences
What we expect
- Ph.D. degree in physics or chemistry
- Strong experience with experimental techniques for studying magnons
- Understanding of the processes leading to nonlinear magnons
- Previous experience with thin-film lithography
- Experience with FMR measurements
- Fluency in English and the ability to write scientific articles in English
- Capacity to independently conduct research, develop innovative ideas, and drive projects forward
- Creative thinking and proactive problem solving
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of researchers and students
- Eager to learn and share knowledge
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
