Institute of Microbiology of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position HEAD OF THE LABORATORY OF GNOTOBIOLOGY.
The Director of the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences announces an open call for applications for the position of Head of the Laboratory of Gnotobiology.
The Laboratory of Gnotobiology is located in Nový Hrádek in Eastern Bohemia and operates as a remote unit of the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, a public research institution. The laboratory focuses on the breeding and experimental use of germ-free animal models (mouse, pig) to study the effects of gut bacteria and defined microbiota components on the development of physiology and immune responses in models of human diseases.
Job Description
- Leadership and project management of the laboratory over a five-year evaluation period
Requirements
- University degree and a scientific qualification in a relevant field (Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology)
- Proven record of significant scientific and research achievements in the field
- Successful experience in obtaining and managing research grants
- Strong organizational skills and relevant leadership experience
- Proficiency in English
- A clear vision and research plan within the given focus, including goals and a funding strategy for the laboratory
- The total combined workload of the successful candidate must not exceed 1.2 FTE (of which 1.0 research and 0.2 teaching)
