Position for PhD students in Developmental Biology

Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Germ Cells is seeking a colleague to join our research team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual interested in studying the regulation of oocyte and embryo development. The research focuses on RNA metabolism and its role in the control of gene expression.

This PhD student position is jointly supervised within The Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Prague. The position is subject to successful completion of two interview rounds conducted by the institute and the university. The appointment is for four years and is renewed annually based on satisfactory scientific progress.

Requirements:

The candidate has a strong interest in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field and demonstrates motivation, initiative, and independence.

 

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Education in biology or a related discipline
  • Good English (written and spoken)

 

Conditions:

  • One year contract with 40 hours per week with appropriate salary
  • Starting date: 1st October 2026, a prerequisite is passing successfully the entrance exam for PhD studies at Charles University
