
Selection Procedures
Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Postdoctoral Researcher – Magnetism in Thin-Film Materials.
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research program in experimental magnetism and thin-film materials synthesis. The researcher will work with the Rare-Earth and Actinide Science Research Group | FZU.
What will you do
- The successful candidate will contribute to investigations of magnetic and electronic properties of functional materials, with particular emphasis on the relationship between composition, structure, and functional properties.
- The researcher will contribute to the preparation and optimization of thin films, magnetic and physical-property measurements, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and development of new research directions.
What do we expect
- Ph.D. in Physics, Materials science, or a related field
- Experience with thin-film synthesis by physical vapor deposition and/or vacuum-based experimental techniques
- Experience with magnetic characterization and physical-property measurements
- Experience with structural characterization is an advantage
- Ability to independently analyze and interpret experimental data
- Good publication record appropriate to the career stage
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an international research team
