Heyrovský Institute of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Senior scientist / postdoctoral researcher in Electrochemistry.
A leading research institute in Prague, Czechia named after Nobel laureate in Chemistry, J. Heyrovský, is seeking a highly motivated senior scientist or postdoctoral researcher for the Department of Electrochemistry at the Nanoscale.

The successful candidate will participate in advanced research focused on the development and implementation of simultaneous single molecule conductance and thermopower measurement methods expected to be used for design of improved nanoscale devices. The work will involve the implementation of new measuring principles and procedures including data acquisition and analysis.
The position includes collaboration within the cutting-edge AMULET project focused on advanced engineering of multiscale materials from subnanometer design to integration into functional architectures for use in numerous applications in electrical, medical and environmental technologies. The position will involve the development of unique scientific instrumentation.
Main responsibilities
Development of an improved measuring platform for simultaneous single molecule conductance and thermopower measurements
Interpretation of large data collections
Participation in scientific collaborations and publications
Required qualifications
PhD degree in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, or Physics
Strong experience with current measurements in a wide dynamic range and excellent knowledge of data acquisition systems
Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
Experience with advanced data-processing algorithms and scientific computing
Ability to work independently as well as within an international research team
Preferred qualifications
Experience with NI DAQ systems
Publication record in relevant scientific fields
