Institute of Philosophy of the CAS announces a competition for the position HR Specialist for Recruitment and International Employment.

We are looking for someone to join our HR team and take charge of recruitment and international employment. You will also serve as a “buddy” for our international colleagues and guests.

Your main responsibilities will include:
•    Managing the recruitment process from defining the job description, creating job postings, and communicating with candidates, through to extending job offers, facilitating onboarding, and developing an adaptation plan
•    Managing international employment matters (you won’t be entirely on your own—the EURAXESS center assists us with issues related to international mobility)
•    Serving as a “Buddy” and managing the “Welcome Office” – You’ll be a specialist for foreign nationals, providing support during short-term visits or relocation to the Czech Republic (for example, a “Buddy” assists with real estate agencies when searching for housing, accompanies foreign employees to bank appointments and helps them open accounts, explains how public transportation works, and handles other practical matters)

What do we expect from you?
•    First and foremost, we can count on you, and you care about making sure that candidates, new employees, and international guests feel comfortable here
•    You have at least one year of experience in an independent recruiting role
•    You have at least a basic understanding of international employment procedures; you know what’s involved in hiring someone from the EU and from outside the EU
•    If we ask you during the interview what the OTM-R principles and the HR Award are, you’ll know the answer
•    You have advanced English skills and aren’t shy about speaking in front of a group of foreigners
•    You want to work at a public research institution; you understand what a non-commercial environment entails, and you’re comfortable with it
•    You want to go to work and aren’t looking for regular remote work

What do we offer?
•    A varied role where you’ll be given a set of tasks, but how you approach them and how far you take them is essentially up to you
•    A workplace in the historic center of Prague; we’re located just a short walk from Národní třída
•    A role where you’ll have the opportunity to put your ideas into practice and help shape something new
•    5 weeks of vacation and 8 days of personal leave per calendar year
•    Some flexibility in fulfilling your work responsibilities
•    The option to negotiate your work schedule; the minimum is 30 hours per week
•    A fixed-term employment contract for 1 year, with the possibility of extension

How will the selection process work?

First, please send us your current resume and a few words about yourself: what is your experience with hiring foreign nationals, and what specifically caught your attention about us? At the same time, please take a look at our career page and write—at least in bullet points—how you evaluate it from a recruiter’s perspective. Please also provide at least two contacts from whom we can verify your references. We’ll get back to you within about a week and invite selected candidates to an in-person interview. If you’re successful, a second round of interviews will follow.
