
Selection Procedures
Institute of Philosophy of the CAS announces a competition for the position Building and Let Premises Manager – 0.5 FTE.
We are looking for an independent and reliable person to ensure the smooth running, maintenance and proper technical condition of our own and leased premises.
What your role will involve:
- Ensuring the day-to-day operation, maintenance and minor repairs of the Institute’s office spaces and facilities,
- inspecting the condition of buildings and addressing any faults that arise, including emergency situations,
- liaising with the building manager, landlords and external service providers,
- arranging regular inspections, checks and servicing of technical equipment,
- looking after two residential studios in Prague 5 used by visiting foreign researchers, including handing over and collecting keys and liaising with guests,
- carrying out basic operational administration, such as recording expenses, filing and document management,
- assisting with the preparation and implementation of capital projects, repairs and refurbishments,
- occasionally covering for a colleague in the registry office during her holiday.
What we are looking for:
- Secondary school qualification; a technical or construction-related background would be an advantage,
- experience in building management, property management or technical operations would be an advantage,
- a technical mindset and the ability to solve problems independently,
- good organisational and communication skills,
- a responsible and independent approach to work,
- working knowledge of MS Office,
- basic knowledge of English for communicating with foreign colleagues and visitors.

How will the selection process work?
Once we have received your CV, we will shortlist candidates whose experience best matches the requirements of the position. We will first contact shortlisted candidates by telephone and then invite them to a face-to-face interview.
