Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position PhD candidate in the Department of Meteorology.

Requirements: 

• Ongoing or beginning PhD studies in atmospheric sciences, physical geography, geosciences, or other relevant disciplines
• Experience in the relevant research field
• Computer programming and data analysis skills
• Active knowledge of the English language

Research fields:

• low clouds – aerosol interaction based on measurements
• modification of microphysics parametrisations in numerical models

We offer:

• Start date: 1 October 2026
• Part-time employment (50 %)
• 1-year contract with a possibility of extension

• curriculum vitae with list of publications,
• brief (1 page maximum) summary of their research interests and relevant experiences,
• copy of their MSc diploma
• confirmation of ongoing or beginning PhD studies
