Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Postdoctoral Researcher of Low-Dimensional Molecular Structures and their Interaction with Light.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate for a postdoctoral position in the field of low-dimensional molecular structures and their interaction with light.

What you will do
- Experimental studies of low-dimensional molecular systems with light-scanning probe microscopy
- Experimental characterization of the electronic and chemical structure of low-dimensional molecular systems with low-temperature UHV SPM
- Collaboration with in-house experimental activities, as well as in partnership with internationally renowned experimental groups
- Preparation of manuscripts for internationally recognized journals and presentation of results at international conferences through oral presentations
- Participation in supervision and experimental guidance of students
What we expect
- PhD degree in condensed matter physics, material science, or physical chemistry
- Solid understanding of low-dimensional molecular systems
- Understanding of physics in ultra-high vacuum
- Knowledge of a operation of low-temperature UHV scanning probe microscopy
- Publication record related to the field
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Excellent writing skills concerning the preparation of manuscripts
- Ability to communicate and present results through talks and oral presentations

- Full-time
- 1-year contract (possible extension up to 2 years upon mutual agreement) and possible renewal of the contract beyond this period
