Postdoctoral Researcher / Research Scientist

Department of Polymer Membranes

The Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v.v.i., invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher / Research Scientist in the Department of Polymer Membranes.

Job Description

The Department of Polymer Membranes focuses on the synthesis of polymeric materials for the preparation of polymer membranes used in electrochemical devices such as electrolyzers, fuel cells, and batteries, as well as membranes for gas separation. Another important research area is the development of novel polymeric materials and membranes for the enantioselective separation of chiral compounds, particularly pharmaceuticals.

The successful candidate will conduct independent, concept-driven research focused on the synthesis of novel polymeric materials and membranes for the above-mentioned applications. The work will also involve the chemical modification of existing polymers by introducing charged functional groups or chiral selectors.

The position includes publishing research results in international peer-reviewed journals, active participation in national and international scientific conferences, and collaboration with academic and industrial research partners in the Czech Republic and abroad. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the preparation of research grant proposals and will have the opportunity to submit their own grant applications as a principal investigator or co-investigator.

The Department provides an excellent environment for pursuing independent research concepts with the potential to achieve internationally recognized scientific excellence. Original ideas and the development of an independent research program are strongly encouraged.

Further information about the Department and its current research projects can be found on the Department's website.
