Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Senior Researcher.
We are looking for an expert senior researcher in the area of theoretical particle physics, quantum gravity, cosmology and string theory, with proven research accomplishments and world-wide interdisciplinary impact, working on the fundamental physical concepts of quantum field theory and string theory and their use in the broad spectrum of scientific fields, ranging from quantum gravity to the puzzles of modern cosmology, particle phenomenology, condensed matter physics, and the interface between theoretical physics and modern mathematics.
What we expect
- PhD. in physics
- Excellent accomplishments in original research with world-wide impact across broad areas of modern theoretical physics
- Excellent proven skills in communicating the structure, achievements and open questions of theoretical physics to students and researchers across many different fields of science;
- A strong proven record of leading and managing larger groups of scientists (including students, postdocs and senior researchers) working on interdisciplinary research in various areas of theoretical physics
- Good understanding of English (written and spoken)
