Selection Procedures
Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Research fellow in fiber lasers and nonlinear optics team.
We are looking for a highly motivated professional with independent working habits and good communication skills. Excellent command of both written and spoken English is required in order to communicate with members of the research team, present results at international conferences and publish them in scientific journals.
Responsibilities and tasks:
The selected candidate will carry out research into specialty optical fibers and their applications in fiber laser devices. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to perform:
- Fiber laser research, for 2 micrometer spectral range in particular.
- Characterisation of specialty optical fibers, in particular fibers doped with rare-earth-ions.
- Leading students and research projects.
Requirements:
- Ph. D. degree in physical engineering, mathematical physics, electrical or software engineering, optics, or similar.
- Strong publication record in the field of photonics, lasers in particular.
- Solid background in fiber optics, optical waveguides, lasers and photonics.
- Strong experience in fiber laser research.
