International Conference on Light Materials LightMAT 2021

On 2 - 4 November 2021, a virtual conference on light materials – LighMAT 2021 - organised by the German Materials Society (DGM), will take place.
LightMAT provides a platform for academic and industrial researchers, scientists and engineers to present and discuss the recent development and progress made in Magnesium, Aluminium, Titanium and their alloys.
This year’s LightMAT topics are:
- A: Processing and Additive Manufacturing
- B: Applications and performance
- C: Alloy Development
- D: Joining and Multi-material designs
- E: Characterization and testing
- F: Computational materials design and engineering
- Special Topic – Eco-Efficiency in Materials and Processes
Submission of abstracts for lecture and poster presentations is still possible and has been extended until 21 May 2021.

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
