
IGNAZ L. LIEBEN AWARD of ÖAW 2021

The Austrian Academy of Sciences has recently announced a call for the Ignaz L. Lieben Award 2021.
This prize is awarded to scientists for outstanding achievements in the fields of molecular biology, chemistry or physics. Applications are invited from scientists under 40 (the age limit is raised by a maximum of 4 years for periods of childcare) who have completed their doctorate, can demonstrate outstanding work in their field and have worked as scientists without interruption during the last 3 years (calculated by submission date) in one of the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina; Croatia; Slovakia; Slovenia; the Czech Republic; Hungary; or Austria.
Submission Deadline: 7 June 2021

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
