Germany: Materialography 2022
22. 02. 2022
The 56th Metallography Conference - Materialography will take place as a hybrid event in Saarbrücken (Germany) & Online. This event will take place on 21 - 23 September 2022.
Besides the traditional focus on preparation and microscopic microstructural imaging, microstructural analysis and metallographic failure analysis, the topics of the Saarbrücken Metallography Conference will primarily be in two promising areas for which the Saarbrücken Campus, with its expertise and technical equipment, stands like no other in Germany. These are, firstly, the further development and application of all tomography methods from the micro to the nano and atomic scale and, secondly, the application of state-of-the-art computer science capabilities and artificial intelligence to the urgent systematic and efficient digitization - also in our professional society.
Main topics:
- Preparation techniques for microscopic characterization
- Materialography of different classes of materials
- Quantitative microstructural analysis and quality control
- Tomography and 3D microstructural analysis - methods and application examples
- Applications and new developments in digital image processing and analysis
- Microstructural analysis for the evaluation of damage cases
- Application of microscopic methods for material and process development
- Digitalization in materialography
Submission deadline: 15 March 2022

The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
