
EASAC call for nomination of peer reviewer - Changing Wildfires report

EASAC has published a call for nominations of peer reviewer for a new report of the working group Wildfires in Europe - the topic "Changing Wildfires".
Required expertise in one of the following areas:
- Fire ecology, effects of fires in both forest and other types of habitats
- Climate science, projections of drought and fire risk in different parts of Europe
- Soil ecology, effects of fires on soil carbon dynamics
- Restoration ecology, principles of post‐fire restoration, design principles for tree planting in fire prone areas
- Health science, respiratory health aspects of wildfires
- Economist, estimates of loss and damage
- Social science, Political science, European institutional response mechanisms
- Policy analyses

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
