Looking for the best idea for a climate protection project in Europe

The European Climate Initiative (ECI) is launching the 7th edition of its competition for ideas to promote progressive climate protection policies in Europe. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, it will provide selected projects with financial support of between 120,000 and 1,000,000 EUR for an implementation period of 18-29 months.

Applications for funding can be submitted from 25 November 2022 to 13 January 2022 by NGOs, non-profit organisations, universities, academic and educational institutions or public authorities.
The programme focuses on the Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe region, the Baltic States and the Western Balkan countries. The proposed projects should aim to accelerate climate action in Europe in one of seven priority areas:
1) climate protection policy
2) energy policy (energy security and poverty, renewable energy, energy self-sufficiency, climate-neutral buildings)
3) socially just transformation
4) climate-neutral mobility
5) climate-friendly financing
6) sustainable economy (resource conservation, sustainable tourism, digitalisation)
7) decarbonisation

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
