Ruth Crawford Mitchell Fellowship for Czech or Slovak professionals

The Nationality Rooms Program is proud to announce the Ruth Crawford Mitchell Fellowship for Czech or Slovak professionals to conduct research at the University of Pittsburgh during the 2021 Fall Term (late August to mid-December). The amount of the award is $7,000.

A key component of this fellowship is that the applicant will connect with a University of Pittsburgh faculty member who will agree to serve as both advisor and mentor to the applicant. The scholar must include a reference from a University of Pittsburgh faculty member as part of the application.

The submission date is March 30, 2021. Applicants will be notified of their status at the end of April 2021.

The University of Pittsburgh is looking for promising candidates in the fields of government, economic, commercial or other professions (students are not eligible) from the Czech or Slovak Republic.

The mission of the CAS

The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.

President of the CAS

Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.

She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
