PhDr. Natalie Venclová, DrSc.

In 1966 he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 1974, he defended his dissertation at the Czech Technical University. In 1990, he obtained the title of DrSc on the basis of his defense. In 1991 he became an associate professor and in 1992 he was appointed professor. From 1999 to 2008 he was the head of the Department of Mechanics, from 1997-2003 the vice-dean for science and from 2003 to 2010 the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. He is an honorary member of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers, an elected member of the Academy of Engineering of the Czech Republic. He was the chairman of the Scientific Board of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. He founded the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings of the Czech Technical University, financed from European funds, and was its first director. Since the establishment of the European Construction Technology Platform, he has been a member of the platform management (High Level Group) for 7 years. He was a member of the editorial boards of two impacted journals. He has supervised 21 doctoral students, 7 of whom are already full professors (one at the University of California and one at RWTH Aachen, the others at CTU). He has received a number of awards for his work, including the Křižík Medal of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Havelka Medal of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He completed 3 several-month internships in Great Britain and Germany. He has lectured at dozens of foreign universities. He is a co-author of projects for 2 large bridges, a co-author of an assessment of the inclination of the Jaslovské Bohunice nuclear power plant before its commissioning, and an assessment of the reliability of deep wells for oil production in the Gulf of Mexico. His H-index is 12. He has 745 citations in WoS.
