Selection Procedures

Institute of Geonics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position PhD student / postdoc in Fluids Mechanics and Fluid Engineering.

Position requirements:

  • Master degree in technology or natural sciences,
  • PhD degree (with up to 2 years from PhD), or PhD degree completed by 2023 at the latest,
  • Knowledge in CFD simulation (Fluent, Open Foam, etc.) and programming languages (Matlab, C++, Python, etc.),
  • Experience with independent work on scientific topics and international projects of fundamental and applied research,
  • Motivation to take new initiatives, enthusiasm for science and interest in further training,
  • Publication activities,
  • Great level of English.

Responsibilities:

  • Study and analysis of high-speed water flows,
  • Design of high-pressure elements and systems,
  • Numerical multiphase fluid modelling and simulation.
