IPHYS is a leading research institute in the field of normal and pathological physiology. It consists of a number of scientific and service departments and shared equipment for the research (http://www.fgu.cas.cz/en/).
- The Laboratory of Developmental Epileptotogy led by Hana Kubova, Pharm.D., D.Sc, is focused on studying the mechanisms of ictogenesis, epileptogenesis and epilepsy-related comorbidities in immature brain
The research continues to work on identification of age-specific mechanisms leading to development of epilepsy and psychiatric co-morbidities of epilepsy in immature brain (Kubova et al, J Neurosci, 2001; Mikulecka et al, Exp Neurol, 2019; Bencurova et al., Sci Rep, 2021; Bencurova et al, Neurobiol Dis, 2022). The research project involves work with animal models of early onset epilepsy and offers unique possibility to learn unique methods of work with immature rats.
We are recruiting highly motivated scientist on:
Postdoctoral position in epilepsy in developing brain
Responsibilities:
- Independent leading project
- Design of experiments, data analysis and their interpretation
- Learning new methods
- Teamwork, helping colleagues with other projects
Position Requirements:
- PhD degree (with up to 8 years from PhD) in neuroscience, medicine, biochemistry, or related disciplines
- Motivation to do science, curiosity and thinking outside of box
- Advanced experience with in vivo electrophysiology, basic experience with histology and molecular biology, animal work. Basic command of English, PC literacy
- Track record of scientific publications, capability of working in international team, great level of English in written and spoken form
