Institute of Art History of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Selection procedure for a research position at the Department of Musicology.

In accordance with law no. 283/1992 on the Czech Academy of Sciences, as amended by law no. 420/2005, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences, is pleased to announce a selection procedure for a new research position specialising in Opera and Musical Theatre in 20th-Century Czech Culture. The activities undertaken by the holder of this post will consist of research and the dissemination of research results in the agreed field as described in the project proposal of the individual applicant.

Commencement date: 1 January 2022 / or to be agreed on
Number of hours worked per week: full-time, i.e 40 / or to be agreed on

Requirements:
– Completed university-level education in the field of musicology or a related field (with at least a PhD. or equivalent)
– Proven previous research activity in the field of musicology or a related field
– Motivation to undertake research
– Moral integrity, independence, initiative
– Ability to work in a team

Applications for the positions must include:
– A short motivation letter
– Certificates showing the level of education achieved
– A professional CV outlining all non-academic and academic activities including publishing, teaching and other relevant experience as well as language skills
– An outline of the potential future research undertaken by the applicant with a view to the opera and musical theatre, preferably with a focus on the Czech lands
