Ing. Oldřich Schneeweiss, DrSc.
Oldrich Schneeweiss completed study of solid state engineering at the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. He received the scientific degree CSc. (candidate of sciences) at the Institute of Physical Metallurgy of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1980. Postdoctoral fellowship he spent at the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany. The scientific degree DrSc. (doctor of sciences) he received at the Institute of Physics of Materials of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IPM) in 1997.
In present, he leads Department of Structures in IPM in Brno. His main scientific interests are focused on experimental research of solids from the point of view of relations between structure, magnetic and transport properties. He has specialized on applications of Mössbauer effect in material research. He was a supervisor of several diploma and PhD thesis and investigator of projects supported by national and international grant agencies. He has published over 180 papers in international journals with more than 1300 citations. He has been the member of the Board of IPM, the member of the Boards of the Institute of Physics of the CAS and Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the CAS.
