Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the CAS

Jana Bludská completed her studies in the field of organic technology at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague in 1975. She continued her postgraduate studies at the Department of Inorganic Technology from 1983-1985 and completed her postgraduate studies at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), where she defended her candidate’s dissertation in 1993. In her research work, Jana Bludská concentrates on inorganic chemistry and material chemistry.

Since 1975, Jana Bludská has worked at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the CAS. From 1998–2004 she held the position of Deputy Director of the Institute and from 2004–2017 served as Director of the Institute. She was a member/vice-president of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry from 1995–2004. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Institute’s Board and between 2007 and 2011 she served as the chair. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Academy Council of the CAS entrusted with coordination and administration of the programmes in support of excellence within the CAS.

Jana Bludská has been a member of a number of professional and advisory bodies, such as the Scientific Council of the Faculty of the Environment of the University of JE Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem, the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the University of Pardubice, the subject area council of the doctoral study program Chemistry and Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of ICT in Prague and FCT of the University of Pardubice. She is a member of the examination commission for state doctoral examinations in inorganic technology at FCHT VŠCHT Prague, member of the All-Academic Coordinating Commission for Classification of Employees in the Highest Qualification Level (2002–2013), member of the panel P207 of the Czech Science Foundation (2009–2011), member of the sub disciplinary commission of the Czech Science Foundation (CSF) for chemistry, chair of the subject area commission of the CSF for natural sciences, secretary and chair of the subject area council for chemistry of the CSF. Her publication activity includes 42 results according to WOS 42 (more than 600 citations, excluding self-citations); h-index 14.
